The new directive by the Federal Government of Nigeria is for its citizens to get the NIN NIMC card because there are strict regulations if they don't get it before January 2019.
Below we have details about how you can use the SMS codes to get you National identity number sent straight to your mobile phone.
Have you forgotten your NIN(National Identity Number)?
- or you don’t remember where you kept your NIN slip?
- Not to worry, NIMC’s USSD service enables you to retrieve your NIN conveniently using your mobile phone.
This service is now available on all mobile networks in Nigeria.
To use this service, simply go through the following steps:
- dial *346#
- from the options displayed, select “NIN Retrieval”, by typing in ‘1’, if you are using the same phone number you enrolled with for your NIN or
- select “NIN Search”, by typing in ‘2’, to retrieve your NIN by inputting some of your registered details (if you are not using the same phone number you enrolled with)
- follow the steps displayed on your screen and provide the required inputs
- note that using this service attracts a
N20 (tweny naira) fee only (deducted from your phone credit balance).
Important Notice: Before you send the codes, make sure you use the number you use for the registrations.
