The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), will begin conducting two series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, as from 2018.
The First Series will be conducted between January and February, while the Second Series will be conducted between August and October every year.
The WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2018 – First Series would be an urban based examination. Nineteen (19) subjects will be available for the examination selections for candidates.
WAEC GCE Registration Period.
The normal registration period is from Monday, October 9, 2017 to Friday, December 29, 2017 and after then, there will be a late registeration of like one week grace for candidate who could not fill their form for the stated registeration date.
How to Apply for the 2018 WAEC GCE.
Registering candidates for the examination are, therefore, strongly advised to visit the Council’s corporate website waec to confirm available examination towns and subjects before obtaining the registration PIN.
Candidates are expected to pay a registration fee of Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira only (N13,950) at branches of any of the following banks or any accredited agent and obtain the registration PIN and the information VCD:

- In addition, candidates will be required to pay Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) commission to the banks/accredited agents.

- Uploading of passport photograph: Passport photograph must not be more than 15 kilobytes or less than 7 kilobytes and the size must be 275x314 pixels which is the allowable length and with of the passport that is supposed to be used for registeration. - Select Prefered Examination Town: Choosing preferred location for exam is what you have tp consider because many people get stranded during the exam time.
- Subject Selections: Make sure you choose subjects very carefully so that there wont be problem later because many people make mistake and are recalled back for re-registeration.
- Declaration: This section is very essential and must be read carefully because after you click and submit your form, any thing you want to re-do will attract a fee.
- Submitting Your Application: After all and clicked acceptance, just hit the submit button and that all.
- Printing of Admission Notice and Photocard: After all has been done, it is now time to print the photocard which contains the examination center no, exam center, so do well to hold it on your examination day because without it, you wont be allowed into the exam hall.
